Strand Maths - Creating trays to display our cookies.

To raise money for our relaxing area we are going to bake and sell biscuits at school. 

We realised we would need display trays to display the biscuits. 

Team Tui kids looked at various  cardboard boxes and pulled them apart to check out how they were made.  They then had a go at creating their own.

First they practised on scrap paper.

 

When they were happy with their design, the students in Team Tui chose some coloured card and made their final display tray.

Jett and Caleb decided they were going to make a special pouch to put their biscuits in.

The trays look amazing!

Team Tui are proud of their hard work!

Today was also Leah's birthday!
We finished our hard work by celebrating Leah's birthday with yummy cupcakes!

Strand Maths - Cafe Tui

To fundraise for our relaxing area the children want to make some soup to sell to the teachers! But first we worked out how many cups we would need!

Our focus for inquiry this term is OUR SCHOOL!

We have decided to make our school better by making a relaxing space by the library.

One of Team Tui’s activities involved thinking about what a relaxing and non-relaxing space looks like. They worked together to decide which pictures they thought were relaxing and put them inside the hoop and which were non-relaxing and put them outside of the hoop.

Our 2015 crosscountry was an awesome day, the sun shone down on us and the kids all did fantastic.

Email Runaway!

The Incredibles reading group read a story about a boy called Braden who wants to runaway to his Aunty's house. His clever aunty puts him off this idea by saying, "Sure you can stay, but ..."  She makes up lots of funny stories to put him off wanting to stay there.

The Incredibles had to send emails to Mrs Newman to put her off wanting to come and stay at their house!
